The One-on-One Mentorship Connections Program connects yoga instructors who have specific skills and knowledge (mentors) with individuals (mentees) who need or want to learn similar skills and practices to implement into their daily personal sadhana, move up in skill level as an instructor, or to have someone who is living the yogic lifestyle to observe and have conversations about similar ideas, passions, challenges, and obstacles.
Mentoring is important, not only because of the knowledge and skills students can learn from mentors, but also because mentoring provides professional socialization and personal support to facilitate success in many areas in life. Quality mentoring greatly enhances students' self-transformation process and supports the learning process in a gentle and compassionate way.
Peaceful World Yoga mentors consider these key qualities when supporting the individuals they are working with and assist students with becoming mentors themselves. Through the mentorship program, students will know and be able to:
Develop an understanding of their own purpose
Ability and willingness to share and communicate what they know and have the ability to deliver the content of interest to their mentee
A quality of transparency that allows students to feel safe and supported
Approachability, availability, and the ability to listen with an open mind and heart
Honesty with diplomacy to assist students in reaching their full potential
Inquisitiveness to spark curiosity and creativity
Objectivity and fairness in themselves and the students they work with
Compassion and genuineness towards themselves and others
Mentorship Program Overview: During their first month, all Mentees begin observing Peaceful World Yoga courses that are being offered. In addition, through a variety of engaging journaling assignments, the first month reveals how the program can best serve the individual. At the end of month 1, you and your Mentor determine which program and direction will be the best fit for you. Along the way, programs can be modified and adjusted to meet your personalized goals. Each month thereafter you will work on your chosen projects, observe classes and begin teaching and guiding students in real classrooms.

If you are living in the Denver-Metro area, you will meet regularly with your Mentor face to face and also have meeting times scheduled online. If you are a distance learner, your work will be delivered and shared using the Zoom Platform. All assignments and resources will be private and only accessible to you and your mentor. Mentoring is a partnership between two individuals, the mentor and the mentee. In considering the roles of the mentor, he or she must wear many hats throughout the process. A mentee must also perform several roles. A mentee is the "gauge" to measure how interactive the connection between the mentor and mentee will be. Keys to Successful Mentoring Relationships. The mentor's role is to guide, to give advice, and to support the mentee. A mentor can help a person (mentee) improve his or her abilities and skills through observation, assessment, modeling, and by providing guidance. Each mentee will choose their own, personalized path for their mentorship.
