Melissa Spencer, PhD, is a devoted teacher, healer, and guide who has dedicated her life to fostering peace, presence, and purpose. With over 25 years of experience teaching children, teens, and adults, Melissa brings wisdom, warmth, and a deeply intuitive approach to all of her offerings.
She holds a Master’s in Administrative Studies & Policies and a PhD in Counseling. Melissa is also a certified yoga therapist, meditation guide, and sound healing practitioner. Her extensive training includes certifications from the Himalayan Institute, E-RYT 500, and a year-long Sound Practitioner program through the Shift Network. Currently, she is deepening her path through a two-year apprenticeship in shamanic practices, further enriching her spiritual work.

Educational Background & Teaching PhilosophyMelissa Spencer’s educational path is a reflection of her deep devotion to healing, learning, and service. She holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, two Master’s degrees—one in Digital Literacy and Administration, and the other in Counseling—and a PhD in Administrative Studies with a concentration in Trauma Therapy Counseling.
While her academic journey is rich and expansive, Melissa believes that true transformation stems not just from knowledge, but from the love and intention with which it is shared. She honors the many teachers, mentors, and community members who have walked beside her, recognizing that healing is a collective journey.
Melissa’s teachings are rooted in yoga philosophy, healing touch, and sound healing. Guided by the Eight Limb Path, she offers her work as a sacred practice—one that honors the Divine Mother, the Earth, and all living beings. Her classes invite students into alignment with their highest selves, integrating wisdom learned on the mat into the rhythms of everyday life.
Inspired by the words of one of her cherished mentors, Seane Corn, Melissa encourages others to live their yoga with heart and authenticity. With her grounding mantra--Shanti Shanti Shanti (Peace, Peace, Peace), she offers a call to return to peace within, so we may ripple peace outward into the world.
