The Anatomy Academy

Melissa Spencer is the guiding force behind Anatomy Academy, a transformative workshop series dedicated to deepening the connection between body, mind, and movement. With decades of experience in education, counseling, and holistic wellness, Melissa brings a unique blend of scientific knowledge and compassionate teaching to every session she leads.
Anatomy Academy honors the incredible intelligence and resilience of the human body. Each workshop invites participants to explore specific muscles, joints, tendons, and connective tissues, not just through lecture, but through interactive, experiential yoga-based movement. Melissa creates a supportive space where learning becomes living, and anatomy comes alive in breath and motion.
At the heart of Anatomy Academy is the belief that true understanding arises when we move beyond intellectual knowledge and connect deeply with our own bodies. By integrating anatomy education with mindful practice, Melissa helps students and teachers alike cultivate safer movement, greater awareness, and lasting wellbeing.

Introducing the Anatomy Academy

Anatomy Academy is a monthly workshop series that will deepen understanding of the human body through yoga and interactive learning.

Peaceful World Yoga is excited to announce a new ongoing program designed to take your exercise practice and teaching to a whole new level. Anatomy Academy is a monthly workshop series that combines in-depth anatomical learning with hands-on movement and practice.

Whether you're a student, teacher, or wellness professional, this series will help you better understand how the body moves and how to keep the body healthy, strong, and aligned.

Each 90-minute session focuses on a different area of the body, from muscles and joints to tendons and fascia. Participants will explore how these systems function, how they support movement, and how to care for them through targeted yoga practices and mindful movement. They will also be gently guided to find where they personally have challenges in their body and explore how learning about their own anatomy improves their overall health and wellness.
