The HeART of Teaching Yoga
Practicing and teaching yoga changes lives.
By creating a personal practice and teaching yoga
to others, the practice of yoga will continually bring students back to why they stepped on the path of yoga in the first place. Asking questions such as, Who am I? What makes me feel happy and balanced? How can I bring balance and peace into my life? In addition, this module will focus on the continuous cultivation of your own personal practice, keeping practitioners strong, clear, and connected to the evolution of yoga so that they can draw from new insights and inspirations and teach
to other seekers.
Teachers will guide practitioners through demonstrations and experiential learning, on understanding of the human body at a deeper level, biomechanically, physiologically, and as the embodiment of spirit and life experience. Students will also be exposed to a wide variety of styles and sources from the historical evolution of yoga. With this advanced knowledge, students will walk away with the essential foundations for an effective personal practice and teaching styles. Lastly, our focus in this module will be observing the magnificent qualities of human beings in their natural progress. From stillness to asana, we are always in motion; our hearts are beating, our breath is flowing, and all of our systems are hard at work. Drawing students towards specific yoga practices will deepen and evolve each student’s body-mind-spirit philosophy and the transformation of this concept.
In this HEART Module, participants are taught that teaching yoga comes in many forms, from the art of self-inquiry to the art of sequencing. Students will be guided to practical and detailed information on teaching methods, sequencing principles, the fundamentals of 108 asanas (poses), and techniques for teaching Dhyana (meditation) and pranayama (breathing). Participants will also be exposed to the philosophy and history of yoga as well as traditional and modern aspects of anatomy.
Aspirants come to yoga for a variety of reasons and Peaceful World Yoga’s Heart Module provides inspired support and informed guidance to students pursuing varied passions and interests for developing their personal practice as well as in deepening and expanding their teaching knowledge.
